These Terms & Conditions apply to all domestic, commercial and industrial electrical works carried out by Forest Lane Electrical. By instructing us to proceed with any works, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Estimates, Quotations & Scope

All estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Estimates are based on the agreed scope of works at the time of issue. Any changes may require a revised estimate.

Unless a full site survey has been completed, all estimates are provisional.

Works not specifically listed in the estimate are excluded.

Forest Lane Electrical reserves the right to amend or withdraw estimates prior to acceptance.
2. Instructions & Client Responsibilities

The person providing instructions is deemed to be the client unless agreed otherwise in writing.

The client is responsible for ensuring all necessary permissions, approvals and consents are in place before works commence.

Safe, clear and continuous access to the site must be provided.
3. Working Hours, Delays & Access
-
Estimates assume works are carried out during standard working hours unless stated.
-
Works outside standard hours may incur additional charges.
-
Delays caused by restricted access, third parties or other trades may result in additional costs.
4. Materials & Specifications
-
Unless stated otherwise, accessories supplied will be standard specification.

Alternative finishes or client-supplied items may incur additional costs.
-
Forest Lane Electrical accepts no responsibility for defects in materials supplied by others.
5. Existing Installations & Additional Works
-
Estimates do not include investigation or repair of existing faults unless stated.

Any additional or unforeseen works will be discussed and agreed before proceeding.
6. Making Good, Waste & Disturbance
-
Electrical works may result in dust and disruption; reasonable care will be taken to minimise impact.

Making good, decorating or specialist finishes are excluded unless stated.
-
Waste disposal is the client’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise.
-
Parking charges or permits are the responsibility of the client.
7. Groundworks & External Cabling

Excavation, trenching and reinstatement are excluded unless specifically included in the estimate.
8. VAT
-
VAT will be charged at the applicable rate.

Reduced VAT must be declared and evidenced prior to works commencing.
9. Data Protection
-
Client information is handled in accordance with data protection legislation and used only for legitimate business purposes.
10. Design & Intellectual Property
-
Any designs, drawings or technical information provided remain the property of Forest Lane Electrical and may not be reused without permission.
11. Commencement of Works
-
Commencement of works constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
12. Testing, Certification & Compliance
-
Electrical certification remains the property of Forest Lane Electrical until payment is received in full.

Where applicable, Building Regulations notifications will be completed following full payment.
13. Payment Terms
-
Payment terms are as stated on the invoice.
-
Deposits or stage payments may be required.
-
Late payment may result in interest, suspension of works or recovery action.
-
Ownership of goods remains with Forest Lane Electrical until paid for in full.
14. Warranty
-
Installation works are warranted for 12 months.
-
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied equipment.
-
No warranty is provided for client-supplied materials.
15. Risk & Insurance
-
Risk in goods passes to the client upon delivery.
-
The client must ensure adequate insurance is in place for the duration of the works.
16. NAPIT & TrustMark Compliance
Forest Lane Electrical operates in accordance with the requirements of NAPIT and the TrustMark scheme. All works are carried out in line with current electrical regulations, relevant consumer protection legislation, and recognised industry standards, including adherence to the TrustMark Code of Conduct.
17. Disputes

Any disputes should be raised promptly to allow resolution.

Mediation is the preferred first step where disputes cannot be resolved informally.
18. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
